Go for the XT. It is more stable than the regular Scrambler and it has more weight capacity. Don't worry about carrying your kayak. Get a kayak cart. That way you can load your kayak up with your gear and roll it down to your launch spot. You can even make your own kayak cart. There are several kayak fishing web sites that show you how to do this.
