I launch through the surf all the time around the Malibu area with no problems and I would never even think of launching through the surf anywhere near Hunnington Beach.If there is any swell at all there is a bad current running plus you have about 3 or 4 lines of surf to punch through. Also that area has the most crowded beach in Calif.I dont think any life guard would let you launch.The beaches where I launch are usually uncrowded and have for the most part easy launches.
