Dear Islandia:
I have been reading the message boards concerning your licensed Captain of the boat the Dolphin. I was not out there on Saturday, but I can tell you that I have encountered some offhanded remarks towards Kayak fisherman over the loud speaker, several times from your captain. Some may say "words may never hurt you," but there has to be a certain level of professionalism, especially when people's lives, and personal safety are concerned. Why is this Captain so angry? I have fished off your party boats for years since I was a kid, and now I have started Kayak fishing. I can tell you that this is a courteous friendly community, sharing the same passion of fishing with your landing. I hope that your landing takes into account the personal safety of everyone on board your boat, as well as, others around it. I was a kid when I started fishing off your boats, and I would like to think that when I introduce my nieces, and nephews to Half day fishing that there will be responsible Captains, deckhands, cooks, etc. to model ethical behavior for them. I have not given up on Islandia sport fishing, but I have given up on the pernicious Captain of the Dolphin.
