I am by no means an expert here, and there are so many variables this is a very tough question. However, If you got a good price on a used basic yak, I think you can get most of what you wanted to get started, with yak included, for about $1,000. Extras like Onno Paddles, GPS units, Boga Grips, Seeker rods and Shimano reels and on and on will send you way out past that. But, that is the joy of yak fishing. The 'I wanna buy' list just goes on to infinity. About the time you think you're set, they come out with the new Extreme and Prowler, and you start all over again. LMAO
