I have not been in mine enough to answer this better, but I noticed that when I had my bait tank on the kayak running with water, I get a little puddle in the seat. Nothing like the water I would get in my Scupper Pro. I didn't notice the water until a got up to sit side saddle.
I think when you load it up with lots of gear, you get just low enough to create a cockpit puddle. When I paddled it without the bait tank, I did not have the same puddle.
