You are right about water temps. Checked my favotite weather site since it always seemed to me to be freezing. Got to thinking about it and realized I was usually on a boat until it started to chill down in the fall and then shivering in the surf.

Try this site for weather. Its got a link included for marine weather that gives water temps at bottom.

I also plan to head over to chase tuna this fall but have no date picked out. Hope they are hitting as well as they did a couple of years ago. Took the pot with a 75 lb longfin on one trip right before moving. Always wanted to head a little further south and fish on the Miss Barnegut Light since it was such a fast boat. Would usually go out futher north however and cut the drive.

When I go I will definately try to rent a yak and launch from beach (assuming its before Nov). Waited on a yak until after we moved and missed a lot of great fishing.

Bob
