To be happy with the common small 7aH 12volt battery on either pump you need a PWM to both reduce flow and noise and extend battery life.
You also don't want to swirl small bait to death.
The PWM I have is made for kayakers and is fully adjustable for flow. I use 100 gph which is pefect and silent and the battery lasts over 12 hours while also powering my FF.

They run $30 or so. Way worth it.
