I've used both types and had the same results. I run both my Finder and Nemotank off of one battery. I initially bought a 7amp and it didn't last very long (running both constantly). It did last when I ran the tank intermittently though (1 min on and 3-5 min off).
I've been using a 12amp for a year now without any problems, running both in whatever manner.

: John,Is the power draw on the Aerator Pumps lower? My 7.5 Amp Battery only goes 4 hours on the bilge pump.Can you explain the difference and do you need to prime the Aerator Pump?The five gallon bucket version works as a great live well. Would be great for the Mission Bay tourneys.Thanks,Ted
