Taking out my son!

Hi all,

Last night I took my older boy out for a special outing down to the harbor for some ice cream and to walk the dog around. Since it was too late for my younger son (5 years old), I told him that I would take him out for a special Daddy and me outing tonight. Well, this morning he informed me that he wants to go fishing with me on the kayak. I have a pro explorer and have taken him on it before just to paddle around. When I did that, he sat in the tank well. I figure this time he can sit on a pad up front and I'd take him over to the bait barge (Dana point harbor) to cast plastics for him to retrieve. Any advice before I go will be extremely helpful.
