Cliff,
Congrats on getting the eXtreme. I haven't tried
one out yet, but I'm sure it will be a great boat.I own a Pro Explorer, and I love it.
One thing that I have found that reduces fatigue
when you are paddling is a quality lightweight paddle. I have an Onno 2 piece touring paddle. That has to be some of the best money I ever spent on my kayak. It only weighs 22oz and is way more efficient than the aluminum and plastic
Cannon paddle that came with my Pro Explorer. I can paddle for hours and I feel fine. My Cannon paddle is now used as a back up. I was fishing the other day with a friend who had just got a new Fish N Dive. On the way back in I switched paddles with him. He had a aluminum and plastic
paddle that came with his Fish N Dive. What a difference! I only had to paddle about a hundred
yards, but it seemed a hell of alot longer than that. That paddle felt more like it was made out of iron than aluminum. I had to stop several times and rest my arms. I would never have to do that with my Onno. I was glad when we hit the beach and I got my Onno back. They run around $200. They are 1000 percent worth it to me. They make paddling way easier and alot more fun.
Robert
