Tip # 1 - NEVER go out into the open ocean alone.
Tip # 2 - ALWAYS take a VHF Radio with you
Tip # 3 - If you do not have a VHF Radio, get a dry bag and seal your cell phone in it and take that with you.
Tip # 4 - NEVER go out in the open ocean alone.

If you are new to the sport of kayaking and it is highly recommended that you hire a guide or take in a clinic or two to get your comfort level up. This is a mellow sport that can kill you if you get careless for even a moment. Be safe, ask questions, have fun.
