Launched at 3:45pm with Mike Vincent, behind Eagle Eye and Life Guard Guy, and ahead of Johnny Ceviche and Soulwinner. Surf was LOW, with a periodic surprise wave blasting thru... We picked a flat window, but I found one to crash over the bow and slap me chest high before we completely cleared the surf zone.

When we arrived at the kelp, LGG asked if we had a camera as he already had a 11 or 12 lb halibut on board!

As usual this time of year, spanish macs were plentiful in small, candy bar size. Trolled the edge southwest looking for fish signs. The fishfinder showed lots of promising marks midwater, and periodic spread bait, but no takers. We did find greenbacks working under some birds that were crashing on fingerling bait.

Johnny got hit twice-- one spit him, and the other apparently rubbed the line in the kelp, causing it to fray and snap-- not typical of JC. I played a little with a jig on the bottom, and caught/released a rockfish and a nice ling.

That was pretty much the extent of the fishing... ocean was flat with small, easy swell, wind was about 6-8 knots, and died down nicely toward sunset, though the marine layer never thinned. Ride in to shore was a paddle, with very small surf. Good day.
