Had a late start on Sunday, but just wanted to get some exercise anyhow. Didn't expect the conditions to be that bad, but they were. Charlie the baitman said the Harbor water was brown and murky and it had just cleared out an hour before I got there. He said it killed most of the bait and what was left was half-dead. He gave me a few anchovies since they were gonna die anyhow, and they barely lasted the 2 hours I was out there.

Outside the harbor the swell was 2-4 feet and the wind made white caps out there. I made two quick drifts from the artifical reef to the harbor entrance for nada, that was all i could handle. It was a long wet paddle out to the reef both times.

By the mouth of the harbor my fishfinder was going nuts!!...must've been a bunch of macks or little cuda's, I remember catching a bunch of those things last summer in the same area. There were a lot of rental boats and kayaks in the harbor, along with bigger private boats that still wanted to wet their lines without battling the seas. There must've been 12 kayaks there and only 1 other fishing. I didn't see a single fish being brought up by any of the boats.

I settled for a nice tan and watched the kailolo girls paddle (out rigger canoe team, i tink), dayum they got some bodies on them!

Greg
