Pal,
I would suggest Carlsbad or Cardiff. For Carlsbad, the area near the South (warmwater) jetty in front of the powerplant would be good. For Cardiff, the area in front the Southern part of San Eligho campground. Look for areas where there are surfers, but stay out of thier way.
