I haven't done this, but I have seen some posts about using cat food. It seem like they all use soft (canned). Are you having a hard time making bait? For me, I been able to make bait pretty easily right up against the edge of kelp. As for the catfood, I think it would be good to take a can and poke a bunch of holes in it and drop it down about ten feet. Or even better, use it as your wieght for your sabiki.
