On this trip we had a young man show up with a F n D. He was defiantly in great physical shape, with a build like a pro wrestler and arms like telephone poles. I figured if any body was going to make a long distance paddle/fish like this and keep pace with the Ocean brand kayaks while paddling a F n D than this was the guy to do it. But after the first 6-mile leg of the journey he had had enough and wisely decided to head back to Mission Bay.
Sometimes it’s not how strong a paddler you are but how efficiently your kayak is paddled that counts.
Summer is just beginning and we are planning a few more of these long distance one-way type fish and paddles and it would be very interested to see if the new Malibu kayaks eXtreme would be able to keep up with a pack of SPTWs on one of them.
