: June 15th is the date for the next MBF Tournament. The first tournament was fished by 15 very brave yakkers who put up with rain, cold and ungodly winds last March. The weather should be slightly better for this one. The basics are: Location: J St in Chula Vista (again) Style: Bass only - artificial baits only Winner: Heaviest single fish! Prize: Jackpot (100%) Other: This is a great time. We're well organized (thanks to my wife, Paul and Jeanette's help) and the food is always great. After the fishing is done we have a potluck style bbq and if the last two events we've had are any indication you won't be hungry for a week when the grillmistresses are done with you. The first (and only, really) time we did the jackpot Travis, a kid from Texas with a huge floating plug (Corky) came out of nowhere and blasted all other fish by a good 3/4 lb. He won't be here to defend his title, though, as he had to move back home and wrestle longhorns or shoot something or whatever it is they do in Texas.
