: Went to State Park on Monday, to catch 5 Large Corbina, and a whole bucket of Barred surf Perch. All were caught using plastics. Used both Motor Oil with Red Flake, and Yamamoto's 3 inch Watermelon swirltail grubs. The bite is very good down south. I was talking to a couple of friends I meet up with at the pier, and they told me the Halibuts are getting ripped out of the surf near Cottens point. I am going to head down there today and give it a shot.

: BTW - Did you guys read about the guy in Carmel who landed a 78 pound White Sea Bass? He has applied for the record, and to boot, he caught the beast on 12 pound line!!!

Jay Did you get your fish from a kayak or surf. Last year in November I caught with 4pound test a 25 1/2" halibut at Huntington beach surfishing with grubs. What a fight. Read This year They Drop Legal Limit on Surfperch TO 5 . It shock me
To you kayakers Just walk the beach or kayak til you find school and have a blast. Some days I'll hit few beaches till I find a school. I wonder if the halibut no this. lol
Mike
ps Limit is 5 surfperch
