Arriving at the beach launch at 4p I talked briefly with Jim Sammons the La Jolla kayak fishing guide who had taken (2) YT earlier in the day.
The launch was easy with very little swell to push though. The wind was light and as the evening came there was no wind at all.
The surface temp was 65 degrees. I saw about (12) kayak fishermen and free divers. There were more than a few PB’rs but they were way out there, well past the kelp.
The sunset was beautiful. The water was flat enough to walk on. It was one of those hot summer-like evenings when the paddling is effortless, your kayak tracks perfectly straight and glides forever.
I neither saw nor heard of any fish being taken
between 4p and 8p.
