: Jason wrote up a nice review of a hooded paddle jacket called the sea tour. Since I have found my gortex raingear also will trap water inside a double layer of fabric (tough to get back on board) I decided to check them out. I called and talked to NRS about the jacket. The material isnt quite as breathable as gortex but does breathe, jacket opens to waistband so you can get plenty of air but does require you to pull it over you head. Has neoprene seals which I think are more comfortable. All in all, sounded good and what I am looking for. Ordered 2002 sea tour last week for cost of $98 to my door and am looking forward to its arrival (so I can take a wave and stay dry and tosty warm). The new ones are made out of a more breathable fabric (nearer to gortex breathability) but are also more than twice the cost. FWIW I also mentioned the review to NRS salesman. Hope it helps since good reports should be rewarded!Bob: NRS is having has some realistic sizes in the 2002 Paddle jackets, in the special section for like a $35.00 savings.

You can't go wrong for the price, especially for an anorak style touring jacket. Their Deals section will be limited to what sizes they have (it's "while supplies last"). From what I've seen, sizes go quick. Generally speaking, if they have your size today, they may not have it tomorrow. For under $100, I can't see how someone could go wrong.

Thanks for the kind words Bob. I wish I had time to review everything I try/use. Though I put priority on that review for a few reasons. One being that it was on sale in their "Deals Section" and I strongly believe that it was an opportunity for people to jump on if they were already in the market for one. Second, I was stoked on the jacket. I've been more than satisfied with the performance of their water wear.
