I have never tried the Freedom. I have fished with a guy that has a Tarpon 120. The Tarpon 120 is a nice yak. It is faster than my Pro Explorer. One thing you said about the Freedom was it has smaller hatches. I for one like large hatches for a fishing kayak. Not that I would need to, but I could take an arm load of 8' rods with the reels on them and fit them inside the front hatch of my Pro Explorer and have access to them while on the water. The same can be said for the Cobra Fish N Dive. It is not neccesary to be able to do this, but it is nice to have the option of storing your gear below deck when entering and exiting the surf zone.
