Robert, reasonable people should have the freedom to discuss differing opinions without resorting to name calling. An active public discourse is a necessary foundation to a democracy such as ours. I enjoyed fishing with you; you seemed quite reasonable and pleasant to me.

In large part due to my concern for the well-being of our troops I have had strong reservations concerning our invasion of Iraq. I've been there - I know what a shithole that place is and don't appreciate your inference that I'm stupid. I'm delighted with the outcome so far, and hopefull the situation in Iraq will quickly stabilize. I only believe what I see; other than perhaps millions of Kurds who are thrilled to be rid of that creep Saddam I think it is too soon to claim the majority of Iraqis love us.

I'm no unilateralist; I think it is important to mend our international relations. Then more of our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines can be back home with their loved ones, out of harm's way while others continue their vigilant watch. If you support our troops put your money and time where your mouth is and call your congressional representatives to tell them this is no time to reduce Veteran's Administration spending.

: All of the men and women that are over there are making huge sacrafices, some of them the ultimate sacrifice, so that the rest of us can live in relative freedom in the best country in the world. I appreciate everything they do very much. The are doing a great job. Eventualy most of the antiwar protesters and nay sayers will realize how wrong they were about the reasons for this action. It's kind of ironic that the fact that millions of people in Iraq are thankful and overjoyed with thier liberation and new found freedom means nothing to these liberal dipsticks. Thanks for the update Ed. Robert
