: I'm just curious about your routine when you go to Nic. Cyn. I love to fish there, but it's hard to park and launch sometimes. I usually at least get the car down to the life guard station (they may label the access "handicap drop off area",I forgot). Drop off the stuff, go park the car back up to the lot. Then I proceed to take my stuff down about 100 steps, though not steep, a pain in the butt.
: Usually, I just launch at Leo and fish around there. Though some days the wind is so rough it makes the paddle back feel like 10 miles.
: If I can think of an easier way, I'd gladly launch there everytime I went West of Point Dume.

Well, I couldn't call it routine - yet, since I've only recently purchased my kayak, but I have surfed this spot a bunch.

Last Sunday I ran into a Park Ranger there, and asked him what the deal was. He said that technically that driveway leading down to the Lifeguard stand is for handicapped only. He did say that if I was just unloading some gear and driving right back up to park that it was fine.

I have one of those rolling carts, and I prefer setting up the kayak without being in a rush, so I like to set it up near the car, and roll it down to wherever I'm launching, then I'll run the wheels back up to the car.

There are definitely some other easier beaches to launch from, but I kind of like the way the kelp bends around that point. Plus I always see a ton of seals and dolphins hanging around. I figure they're good harbingers of FISH!
