On Saturday, Tom Booth and I were "assaulted" by that pup as it tried to board both our yaks for over 30 minutes.

On Sunday, I launched at 6:30am, and about 8:00am, the "cute" pup again tried to board my yak, along with Brian/LifeGuard Guy, Todd/C-Level, and others.

At one point I had a rod in one hand with a fish on, and my paddle in the other, trying to fend this guy off. Very exciting, but not what I was after for the morning.

Seems this seal is used to humans, and was looking for a handout.

By the way, under the Marine Protection Act, what is the fine for that photo? Does it now have a right to your yak as a resting spot, as the sea lions now own Children's pool?

What is this seal going to be like when he's older and bigger, now that he's been befriended by some yakkers? You want to have him follow you around for an hour while you try to catch bait ot yellow tail? Ever had an adult sea lion get up close and aggressive for your fish or bait?

Isn't this teaching this seal not to respect us and keep it's distance?

Maybe I just don't see a cute pup, but rather, a long term problem.
