Catalina Mothership trip was AWESOME!

Great people & great crew. Beautiful, sunny weather. Catalina in spring - lush as a tropical isle. 7 dudes on a 55 ft boat (can you say LIMITED LOAD?). Hot, tasty cheeseburgers getting lowered to you in your kayak for lunch (can't stop for lunch - to many fish).

Ended up with 17 Calicos, a very large mackeral, and a couple of perch. Released everything but a couple of bass for dinner. Had two really big hits that I couldn't connect on.

Great meeting all you guys. Thanks to the excellent crew and Mike for rigging it all up. Count me in for the next one.

PS: Kayakers - be on the lookout for a 35-45 ft power catamaran named "El Gato" or something like that (Richard and I couldn't get the name because we were to busy getting out of his way and then bracing to avoid getting capsized by his wake). We were fishing about 100 ft off a point just east of the west end. He went between us and the point at full cruise! His wake hit the counter directional 4 - 6 ft swell (That was wrapping around the west end) and made one swell steep enough to break on me. Luckily I thought something like that might happen, so I already had my bow facing the swell and was braced for the situation. If any of you know this "El Gato" (or whatever) kook, tell him to take a USCG Auxillary or Power Sqadron class and learn some rules of the road (not to mention common sense and manners). If he keeps piloting at the helm as he did on Saturday, he going to cause a serious accident one day.

Thank You!
