Just make sure its submersible and small enough to carry on you....wont do a lot of good if the yak and the radio get blown away from you.

I bought the Standard HX460 and like it. Very small but if size doesnt matter then the 350 is also a very good radio. You cant beat the Standard warranty (3 yrs vrs 1 then a flat rate replacement). Best bet is find a west marine and pick your model. Then find the best price you can and print it out and see if WM will match it.

This is a real store in NJ which has good prices.

:

The HX350S is covered by Standard Communications’ 3 Year Waterproof Warranty which states: if your Horizon radio fails for any reason, including water damage, during normal use in the first three years, Standard will repair or replace it free, without hassle or charges - period. If it fails thereafter in normal use for as long as you own it, it will be covered by the company’s exclusive Lifetime Flat Rate Service Program.

: What VHF to carry??? I would appreciate knowing which brand/model VHF TIYHO is preferred for yak fishers... I would prefer to have a waterproof unit so as not to have to deal with a dry bag... any good choices for under $200 and where are they????
