Definitely some surf and swell lingering from the last storm. I launched from La Jolla Shores shortly after first light. Offshore wind blowing 8 knots, shifted to out of the south, then southwest as the morning went on. 6 foot swells at 9 seconds off the point. Water looked somewhere between army green and pea soup with 5 feet of visability, didn't seem to bother the bass. I flylined a frozen Sardine while I jigged up some Macs. Saw a small boil and cast the Sabiki, rigged with a Scampi in place of the torpedo sinker on the bottom. Started winding in and BAM, pulled up a Calico double, with 1/2 dozen followers. Releasing them and the sardine goes off, another checkerboard. Threw out another sardine and dropped a 4"chartruse Scampi, kept getting nailed on the fall, all 13-14" Calicos. Picked up some Spanish macs, put one out and kept bouncing the scampi. Awhile later the clicker goes off on the mac, freespooling, something is running hard. Throw it in gear, line comes tight, BENDO and pop. I fish a real light drag for the WSB, so it must have been a " full moon" Soupfin. No shorts, but no big ones today and I wouldn't quite call it WFO, but it kept me making one more cast.................................<'(((>(
