: :Hey don't listen to the lady about the turkeys, they could never ever do any harm to the vegitation. That is some one who has no idea what they are talking about. Now on your mushrooms, what are you guys taking, I used to get all kinds of morels when I lived in WA, and chantrels in NorCal. Was just out in Alpinetoday doing some work. I hope to get back down there in a few days.

Hey Iceman,We harvest many types and numbers of mushrooms. The rain really has them literally popping up all over and especially under the old oaks that are found deep within the old growth woods along the creek bottoms. We also saw a flock of wild turkeys. The lady at the Alpine Liquor store where we stopped to buy a "Wilderness Pass" said that the swelling turkey populations are cause for concern because their over population would result in a loss of vegetation.Fortunately the spring turkey-hunting season is just around the corner.A sportsman's job is never done/so many hobbies so little time,John ;-) John, Did you see the wild turkeys before or after you started picking mushrooms? hehehe Any flying fish?-Jackyakjas
