: : : Did anyone know there are Huge waves in Half Moon? I never heard of this place before. Anf fo the fishing aspect of this post: I would be a great place to catch a GW!. Oh Man used to hang out in half moon bay on occasion. Pumpkin fest comes to mind, seems I remember something about pumpkin ale :) Used to play in the surf there once and awhile. I think it is just out side the great white triangle, but not by much so it would not matter. The triangle is S.F. to the farrlons to Eureka. My Brother in law and sister had taken some biologists out years ago when they where doing a study on them. It seems that the Farrlon islands are a breeding ground for GW. Went out to the Farrlon islands as a kid with my Mom, salmon fishing on a company party, and caught 2 good size salmon on whole chovies.I would like to thank my Mom, Miss Dragnet(PB) and the Crew. They still float a small Remote control Seal profile and the Gw's just slay that Seal. I wonder if they get a taste for neoprene? Someone do a follow-up!

I saw some footage not long ago where they followed a pack of Great Whites. Some had tracking devices on them. I think their conclusion was that "this" group of whites were hunting in packs, circling the islands. I may be confusing the place since they showed studies in a few locations, but I think it was the Farrlons. I believe they even tracked some of the sharks to South Africa.
They did show an Abalone diver working somewhere around that area. Murky waters and Whites swimming sometimes just overhead. How can the pay be good enough? Cameras went down with him. Crazy.
