: Can anyone tell me something about crystal pier. My wife saw an ad for it and want to spend a weekend. Is it a fishable area, and can you launch a yak from the shore. I don't know SD that well so any help is welcome
Launching north of Crystal Pier is a short paddle to the south end of La Jolla kelp, really good Calico fishing. If you are leaving the wife on shore and want someone to fish with, let me know, I'd go. It is a surf spot but thats half the fun, Right John? I live down here and I've considered staying there for a vacation at home.
