No, I didn't (intentionally ) buy a blem. If it turns out to be, but is still a sound craft, I'd be happy to just get a discount. For what it's worth, the bill-of-sale says 'new'...

The hull seems firm from the outside. The spot is in the middle of the keel and doesn't go through; the keel feels firm from outside. Could be the plastic softened and the yellow shred 'ball' fell into the soft spot, then broke off leaving some shreds behind.

My previous 'yaks did not have hatches, so I've not seen the inside of a hull before. I wondered if this was a typical remnant of the manufacturing process. Doesn't sound like it.

I'll follow up with the dealer and Cobra.
