: Met 4 others (Fishhead, Yakatak, Phil and Kurt) at 805 and E St. at 5:30 AM and headed down to Puerto Nuevo. Al knew of a panga launch in the middle of the village. For $10 we parked our vehicals and readied to launch. Al headed in first, you just had to get through the 1st 20 feet and you were fine. Al got a face full of a 3 foot, brown (clay runoff) breaker. He shook it off, not knowing weather to laugh or cheer, we did both. Everyone else made it through less dramatically. 2 miles staight out from our launch is a pinnacle, Sugarloaf Rock, that comes up from 150 feet. We were also informed that to the north was a large reef. Once there, Al pulled up a Ling on the first drop. Everyone started pulling up big Sanbass, Reds, Lings, Whitefish and other rockfish. I was looking for the big fish, dropping the iron, and never found it. Around noon the wind was howling pretty good from the northwest, we headed in. Landing at lowtide we had to thread our way through 2 reefs with some pretty big water rolling over them. Heading in single file we all landed dry. Our hosts insisted on lugging the yaks up the hill, rinsing them off and help loading. Once loaded we walked 30yds up the hill and ate lunch. Everyone had lobster or fish tacos, I had a killer lobster burrito. In the mornnig this place was a ghost town, at 4PM it was packed with lobster eating tourists, took 20 minutes to get 2 blocks. Long wait at the border with a police barricade diverting us to cross at Otay. Back home around 8PM, another long, hard day on the water, with friends.Andy

I hate it when that happens. A fish every drop. NICE!!! Great pictures and report as always.
