Went out for a super flat Escondido launch. Totally flattski. Met Dino for the first time....Oh btw, how'd you do?
Went out deep looking for REds. Really slow morning until the West wind came in. Metered fish the whole morning, but couldn't get them to bite except for a few sandies I snaked when I drifted past the reef zone.
At about 1100 things started to heat up. I managed a TOAD Calico and a 5lb RED on a double dropper loop. The Calico was in about 100 feet. Deep. I had to keep the monster since his blatter sput right out of his mouth. I'd try it w/ a Black Sea Bass, but I'm not that good at puncturing blatters and stoughing them back down their throats.
One Big REd, One HUGE Calico, A Nice Sheephead, and 2 nice Sandies.
Great day on the water. Flat seas and mild weather. Though the water was coldski. About 54.
