Me and another new guy to the sport start this morning by launching form the sub base at point loma (rock beach, bad idea). We fished from there out to about a 1/2 mile or alittle further and caught 2 sculpin that were 10-12 inches and 1 that was about 15.5 inches my buddy also caught 1 short halibut. All in all we did well for a two hour trip. All the fish were caught off of plastics even though we had live sardins on the bottom. I believe that we will be fishing LJ tomorrow if the waves are small.
