Kokanee Anglers?

I'd like to catch one of these bad boys. Anyone ever done it on a kayak? I know I can get my lead core down 60 ft and slow troll as well, but I was wondering if any one here has any experience. I hear Shaver Lake has a Kokanee Derby. Any comments would be appreciated.
