I happened to be home for the tuesday airing of "Inside Sportsfishing". Regardless of what episode it is, I always try to tune in. Thinking that Fox was going to replay the local Halibut episode, I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be part I of the Threshers from kayaks episodes.
Nice job Rhino and Dogbreath (aka Goodtime Tommy, aka Oceanhunter). Well done Michael Fowlkes!!!
You see yours truly(me)for a few secs. Tommy had a double hookup, and I was coming in to get a handoff. His snapped, so I handed back his rod. Then came a lesson in kayak 101; safe trolling distances. Tommy gets hooked from an unsafe trolling lane from another yaker. Unbelievable, he trolled right across Tommy's bow while Tommy had a shark on. I was in such shock, I had to stay away from the aftermath. I couldn't believe what I had just been a witness to. "This isn't the WWF"...Scotty Weisgard, lol. Besides, there were plenty of yakers close to the lens.........didn't need anymore cooks in the kitchen. (Sorry....had to vent a little. Accidents can happen. Nothing was intentionally done. And it could have been worse).
THough you do get to see one of my hookups doing some aerials in the background (plus instant replay).
Rhino takes the cake though. Solid footage of landing, handling, as well as some fondling-gettn fresh. Great job once again! TOmmy shows how tough a kayak angler can be, and Rhino shows how skilled a kayak angler can get. I saw you gettn touchy-feely w/ that Thresher Rhino. You charmer you.
If you didn't see it today, stay tuned for Sunday's broadcast on Fox Sports NEt.
