the tides were great - once they got rolling, but the wind was wacky. it came up and then went away, and then blew from the wrong direction.

Started out trying some new baits for only two hits in 45 minutes. ONe of those hits bit off my plastic, so I went back to an old faithful - which got caught on a rock or some structure on the bottom. 0 for 45 minutes,

Then, in the next 25 minutes, I got 9 fish (6 bass and three short halibut) in a bit over 20 feet of water. It had turned on. Less than a 100 yards from shore, the 'walkers' must have thought I was a bit aggressive trying to handle two rods loaded with fish at a time.

Stayed south of the ferry landing and ended up with a total of 23 fish with a year high of 5 halibut (none bigger than 16 inches). Unlike the last 2 outings, there were no 2 pounders in the mix. some tiny ones too (amazing the size of bait a six inch sandy will attack). Also, the color that caught the halibut last time didn't catch a one this time.

It's interesting how there were many boils last week and none this week. maybe the difference was the incoming tide or the amount of bait in the water.

Anyway, always nice to spend the morning on the water and even nicer when there is plenty of action by the bass.

I will not be out next week, but again, if any of you guys want to introduce a kid to fishing on the kayak and want a very high probability of catching fish (there is no sure thing) - I would be happy to meet you at the shore and show you how to catch them on the bay. I will even give up some of my "tried and true" plastics and leadheads for the cause.
