I'm a saltwater newbie in San Diego. At the recent La Jolla / Mission Bay fishing tournament I was lucky to win a certificate for a free pair of Maui Jim sunglasses - any pair in their catalog. A quick hunt on the web shows Maui Jim shades go from $150-$250 a pair. It is a very nice prize, and I'm grateful to have won it, but what I really could use is some nearshore fishing gear. Would anyone be interested in trading a baitcasting rod, reel, tackle, or some combination of the above for the Maui Jim certificate, and in the process help a beginner get started?
