The DX 200 has 2 sonar beams for more coverage. I think it will also allow you to determine which fish are being picked up from which beam. Some fish will be hollow, and some will be solid (monitor's appearance/fish ID).

I'm pretty sure that the Prianha you mentioned is a single beam, but I could be wrong. I have a single beam, and kinda wished I purchased the duel beam, or even better, a triple beam sonar.

Just check and compare the features and options. Also, to me, at first glance, the Piranha looks like it may compromise structural integrity for their new look and dimensions. They look less solid at first glance than the yellow series. I may be wrong about their strength and durability.

Good luck. One thing is for sure. Hummninbird has a great service dept/warranty return policy. They try their best to keep to their 3-day turn around time policy. Plus for $14 (I think it is), you can get your 200 dx warranty extended for 2 more years. Good stuff!!!
