My Cobra Tourer is fine, no thin spots or defects whatsover. I have looked at many others in the shop and never seen such thing. On the other hand, my friend went down to see the Pro Explorer and was disappointed with the quality. The scupper holes didn't align top to bottom and it looked to him like a 2-piece hull welded together.
If you are thinking about the Explorer, let me remind you that it is not for tall paddlers. If you are 6 feet tall you should get the Navigator. I prefer the Tourer for ocean fishing for it's extra speed and capacity.
