Launched at Leo North Beach end parking lot about 7:20 With Luigi . We paddled to Neptunes Net. Which is a shot paddle. My heart was set in fishing the deep Hole. On the GPS it's only 1.82 miles from are launch site. When we reached Neptunes Net Def Jack was waiting for us. He took the short cutt. Launching in front of Neptunes net. A very high risk launch for a rookie. But not Pro like Def Jack.
Luigi started setting up to make bait, Def jack was throwing plastics. I head out to mark Deep hole with a marker. So we could fish it at will. Plus I had the only FF.
Letting my gps lead me to the Deep Hole. Notice Fog rolling in ,so I turned around headed back to Luigi. For safty reasons. To team up plus I also had the only GPS. I guess I'm floating toy shop.
So we gave up on the Deep Hole just fished the kelp for the Day with Def Jack. Wind came up Def Jack head in paddling into the fog to shore. The wind pushed Luigi and I all the way home with chutes out. We work the kelp. .We each caught 2 Calicos & 2 Sand bass, Luigi also hooked up nice 26" Halibut. On a fish trap.
After some pictures of Luigi's halibut we headed in for the day. It was a great day on the water, Because it was a great learning experience dealing with the fog. I Had all the right toys! Compass Which I take a land bearing evey time I launch, Gps With Launch site marked for return trip,a VHF radio which gives weather reports,and whistle. With all this gear it made for a safe fun fishing trip. Luigi is with out computer so I added his report in.
