First time post here.

This past X-mas My wife bought me a portable fish finder. I was saving up to get one but she beat me to it. I may sound ungrateful here but it isn't what I would have bought. It is the Hawk Eye FF3300PX. If I use it as it is intended then I would have to stop my yak put the transducer w/float over the side. Is there any way to mount the transducer in my kayak hull?

Thanks

Ldubya

There are a lot of different methods you can use to use a transom-mount transducer inside the hull of your kayak. Just use the search function on any of the better kayak fishing forums for heaps of ideas/comments or take a look at these...

Permanent mounting.. take a look at the 'how to install a fish finder' article on the very website or the discussion at http://www.fishingkayaks.net/subnav/kayaks/rigging/fishfndr/fftrans.htm

Semi-permanent mounting.. try http://kfs.infopop.cc/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=418607442&f=220603834&m=5666058454&r=4776058454#4776058454

Remember, if you have a kayak hull with a layer of foam on top of the plastic you'll need to remove the foam directly under the transducer.
