Well, I was supposed to be camping in the desert one last time this weekend, but the heat was just too much...
so...
at the last last minute..
the wifey books a trip to Casitas for the weekend...
not being one to complain...
I went along with it!
Friday evening one hour session from the shore yielded this...
I'm thinkin' biggest dang bass ever...
but in the back back of my mind kinda knowing it wasn't the new lake record largemouth...
huckin' a slashbait...
hooked this bad dude like a thresher...
in the tail...one hell of a fight!
did a short session with Anacapabob on Saturday morning for nada...the lake is plugged with shad and so are the fish...
unless you dipped some shad....
fishing was just fishing...
no catching...
I did however manage one 4.25 lber on the slashbait in the evening...
twas my only fish for three days of fishing...
this morning...
I did make some shad...
but I and every one else I talked to on the lake had zero luck...
no biters even with the candy bait...
My guess is the bass are feeling like we do on Thanksgiving after the third piece of pumpkin pie!
they wanna eat...
but just can't manage to move cause they're so full!
I did gain a new skill though...
I got taught how to use a dip net for shad...
always good to learn a new skill! _________________ member Malibu Flotilla, Kayak Coastal Assault Squadron

Always a pleasure Josh and Mrs. Rider. I'm so glad you got your golden, big scaled, rubber lipped bass like creature!
I have always wondered what was boiling in that cove.
There were alot of boats on the sunken island that we didn't
investigate... Next time!
Pet Gilly behind the ear for me. He's a good dog.
Cheers. _________________ " You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
