I used to enjoy Piru Creek below Pyramid for a while during the early 90's. (Exit Templin Hwy) Honestly, I was really enjoying my newly learned flycasting skills and catching and releasing little rainbows while nymphing.
Then I just gave it up. There anyway. People with these really bad habits from another zip code.... were just trashing the place. I am talking El Pollo Loco bags of food and dirty diapers everywhere. I started picking up the place a little each time after fishing. One time I picked up a McDonald's bag on the side of the road and found the biggest bear print I had ever seen! I thought it was sooo cool then, I got sad like the Indian from the old commercial. The new trash throwing person wasn't the Cleaver's type. The new generation are skilled in lobing arm's full of trash after carefully spray painting the rocks.
There is no honor anymore.
I suggested you fish Piru creek while you still can. Bring a bag to pick up stupids trash and enjoy it before it is claimed as a condor sanctuary or petroglyph monument to early graffiti artist.
Have fun!!!! I bet it still holds natives. _________________ " You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.

What a shame!! Part of the "fishing experience" is enjoying the awesome scenery God has Blessed us with. I also make it a habbit to pick up after these careless people!!
Have you ever fished Lake Elizabeth? My 1st time kayak fishing was there and the Crappie was munching on my kastmaster! I hear they plant trout? _________________ I'm all ears............. |

Gotta ya Ryan, not familiar with Lake Elizabeth.
Due to the fact of pure daziness, I rarely venture out of the hood for fishing. You guys have been here. Everytime I go out I'm in a daze staring at the beauty that surrounds this place.
I think The Amateur should head this way.
Ryan Howell Invitational this summer?
Opener info, Crowley, Convict, June, Gull, Silver all thawed and ice free. All the lakes above 8000 ft. are still frozen. |
