I slipped a piece of paper between the tail and carapace so you could see the gap...how would you measure this guy?
He was well over legal size, over 2lbs....except for the gap.

That is such a trip!

Did it look like that was caused by a predator or do you think it was a mutation? Just to be on the safe side, I'm glad you removed that bug from the gene pool. I wouldn't want any more convenient mutations force me to throw back otherwise good size bugs.
