Anyone on here fish with one of these? Thinking of picking up either the 35 or 40 to fill up with 65# braid and run either a 40# or 50# leader.

| Some guys use the Saltist 40 in LJ don't see why a two speed would'nt work might be better. What are you looking at on the price of one? |

I think it's $329 for the 2 speed lever drag. Probably overkill for the yak but I do a lot of boat fishing as well. I'm mainly concerned with the casting since it's a lever drag. _________________

I have a black and gold star drag and the hyper speed lever drag. Those reels are sweet! The black. And gold definatly casts beter. But both cast we'll. _________________ Santa cruz kayaks rule! |

I have a Saltist 40 single speed BG and love it. I don't think a 2 speed is necessary from the yak, but if you're going to use it from sport boats, then a 2 speed would be nice. _________________ "A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have." - Thomas Jefferson

Yeah, I've had it for a year or so now... Rock solid reel and no issues on bigger wsb. Liked it so much I picked up the 30 single speed as well.
2 speed not necessary from the yak at all, but I've had to drop down to low gear a couple times on the boat so i'm glad I got it. _________________
