Upon removal of deck-loops or a trolley-system, the rivet holes will be exposed and a great source for leakage.
How can I close them leak-free? _________________ =================================

| Hot glue gun. There is a technique to it, but not up on that. |

This may sound really dumb but I plug em with rivets.

| Them damn rivets leak. I did the upside down water in the hull test with my Trident, and all of the factory rivet connections leaked. It is not a lot of water that passes through each rivet each time they get wet. But on a nasty day, my kayak is wet all over most of the time (read lard azz). So those 20 or so rivets I have can add a bit of liquid to my gear. |

A gob of goop on the inside did not seal them? _________________ 9 year old son, 6 year old daughter, 4 minutes free time per week |

| Can't reach a bunch of them from the inside. And several of the ones I could reach are in awkward positions to get Goop on and know I got them covered. |

I had the same problem, I used marine goop outside of the eyelets using my index finger or small brush will work too, give it at least 24hrs, it seem to solve the problem. |

Before you set the rivet in all the way hold the rivet about 1/4/" above the seated position and add a dab of Marine goop, then set the rivet on top of the goop and rivet in place makes it about 99.5 pecent leak free, or use a pencil solder iron and ask your yak manfacture for some colored welding plastic rods they will usually send to you for free. and just melt them into hole and file flush, It sounds scary to do but simple. I patched a few holes with rivets an even repaired the keel in my cobra with the welding plastic rods,
Worst it will do is sink ....right...just kidding, sometime the repair guys at the yak shops have not done very long either. |
