Fished Conesus lake again. A little colder this time with the constant breeze and snow. Had to scoop ice out of my hole every couple minutes.

Fishin was a little slower than last time. Thought I had a nice bass on a tiny jiggin rod and looked down and saw spots! Shocked Shocked Shocked

Crappie! Barely got her through the hole.

Taped out at 15''.

Caught a couple dozen bluegill and another decent crappie to end the day. Lots of fun on the ice!

I think next time I will wear 3 or 4 pair of socks instead of 2. Maybe another sweater as well...

Phil

Nice crappie! Yeah the secret to staying warm is layers. But it has to be loose layering or else it doesn't work, especially with socks. If you want to keep warm you nee to get wool socks, two different sizes, so they are not tight on your feet. Then you need a warm boot, up in Canada the Sorrel to -40 or -60 is the way to go. The boot should fit snug when new because the insulation breaks down and then the boot feels to big and uncomfortable. So anyways thats the way to keep yout feet warm. It took me a while to figure out that the wool socks really makes a bit difference.

Yeah, I kinda broke the tip. Put the tape on for a short term fix, but actually like it. The broken tip is as sensitive as you can get which makes a big difference with the lightest of bites.

Yeah, I lost my wool socks...
