| I'm new to the kayak fishing world. I just bought mine last week, and was hoping to find anyone near destin to hook up with. I got a OK Prowler 13. I need all the extras, but can't wait to get out on the water. |

Sorry, I'm on the west coast, but I have fished out of Destin...the in-laws are in Blue Water Bay. Maybe we can hook up next time I visit?
My fishing there was a 3/4 day and we got into Amberjack, King macs, and even a cobia......Awesome fishing in that area, you are stoked......not to mention, I've heard the intercoastal fishing is great too.
good luck, Dan |

| Ask around Half Hitch Tackle in Destin they'd know, or maybe the kayak shop in Destin. Also even though it won't be till next Oct. you might want to know their is a kayak group in the Destin Fishing Rodeo. I've got a Prowler Big Game and a Big Yak but and I live on the bay but due to bad circumstances I really won't be able to take her out till Mid Jan. |

| Old thread, but I'll bump it. I live in Destin, my kayak is currently in Defuniak Springs, but I'm bringing it down soon. I just recently moved here about 3 months ago and I hope to find some good spots, maybe get a meet together and do some fishing! |

I fished out of Destin and Pensacola June '08 for a few days. My friends and I did really well on kings and even caught a 65lb tarpon.
I am in the process of planning a trip to FL for some more kayak fishing and would love to get into kings again. Could anyone tell me when the kings show up in the Panhandle area or where they might be at the beginning of March? My guess is that the water will be too cold at the beginning of March for the fish to have made it to the Panhandle.
We caught all of our fish within a half-mile of the beach on live hardtails, butterfish and whitebait. Looking to do similar fishing if possible.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks! |
