I know people have mixed feelings but I love to hoop on full moons, especially on wolf moons (the biggest full moon of the year).

Started paddling out into a stiff breeze just after low tide at 4:30. My skinny arms have a hard time pushing the x-factor through the wind and chop but after a mile long paddle I found my spot in 80-90' of water. No time to rest as the sun was just above the horizon and I had to set the 4 ambush nets and 1 flat net with bait suspender. Got the nest down, waited 45 minutes and started pulling.

Pulling 90' of rope as fast as you can is not easy by any means. The first few nets, I pulled really fast at the begining but ran out of gas when they were about 20' from the surface. I needed to pace myself so I started couting as I pulled '1,2,1,2,1,2......" and I tried to stop looking at the depth finder. Seemed to help.

The early crab crawl was pretty good. The first 2 sets yeilded a few rock crabs and quite a few spider crabs. Then the full moon peaked over the clouds and shut the crawl down. The next to sets were empty. The full moon had been showing for about and hour and the tide was in full swing and thats when the crawl really happends. the next two sets produced quality bugs and crabs. Soon a sea lion showed up and decided to steal mt bait. It crushed two of my cages and riped my bait suspender apart. The crawl shut down so I called it quits. Back on dry land at 10:00 pm full a kayks full of bugs and crabs.

Me and the catch...

The catch...

Lemon pepper rubberband pasta with roasted asparagus and grilled lobster tail dinner on staurday....

Crispy lobster quesadilla with english coastal cheddar cheese, onions, tomatoes, cilantro and avacado with more asaparaguys for sundays dinner.

See you guys out there.
